Rancho Buena Vista moved up to 491 from 607 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Avocado - East. The Longhorns climbed the ranks as a result of a 43-27 win over Orange Glen.
Escondido and San Marcos played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Escondido eventually emerging with a 28-27 victory.
Daviante Sayles was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 239 yards on 28 carries as Rancho Buena Vista bested the Patriots.
The Cougars' Mitch Bartram and JC Hernandez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Avocado - East in both passing and receiving yards. Bartram has thrown for 188 yards this season, while Hernandez, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has five catches for 114 yards. Paul Gomes's team's Sayles leads the league in rushing yards with 1004.
Mission Hills took down Valley Center 38-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
