The Spearfish Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They managed a 73-69 win over Sturgis Brown. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dylon Doren continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Bennett Kortan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
The win got Spearfish back to even at 7-7. As for Sturgis Brown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Spearfish will head out on the road to square off against Custer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Spearfish focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Sturgis Brown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hot Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hot Springs is coming into the contest with seven straight wins on the road, meaning Sturgis Brown will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
