The Royal Oak Ravens will venture away from home to face off against the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Royal Oak's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
On Tuesday, Royal Oak got the win against Avondale by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Ravens, who have now won nine contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Josh Adler made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Adler was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Payden Morrison was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jack Groya, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield Hills was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Cranbrook Kingswood. That's two games straight that the Black Hawks have won by exactly ten runs.
Rishaan H tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Bloomfield Hills got a massive performance out of Sawyer C, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI C has posted over his last four games. Ryan W was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.
Bloomfield Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Royal Oak is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Bloomfield Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
Royal Oak suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Bloomfield Hills in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Ravens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
