Narbonne has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. After each having a week off, the Narbonne Gauchos and The Birmingham Patriots will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. Narbonne will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while Birmingham is ranked 178th).
Last Friday, Narbonne suffered a tough 28-3 loss at the hands of Gardena.
Meanwhile, Birmingham entered their tilt with Taft with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Birmingham simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Taft 83-6 at home. Considering Birmingham has won eight matches by more than 30 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Birmingham can attribute much of their success to Dredon Fowles, who rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Peyton Waters was in the mix as well, providing Birmingham with four touchdowns.
Narbonne's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-4 San Pedro (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.9% over those games). As for Birmingham, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Narbonne couldn't quite finish off Birmingham in their previous meeting back in November of 2018 and fell 2-0. Thankfully for Narbonne, Abdul-lateef Audu (who picked up 157 receiving yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
