The Bay Rockets managed to keep up with the Avon Lake Shoremen until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Bay suffered a rough 59-39 loss at the hands of the Shoremen. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bay has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Bay still got an impressive performance from Evan Alexy, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Alexy hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Tommy Mack was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Bay has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Avon Lake, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bay will take on the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Perkins will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Avon Lake, they and the Comets will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Steele is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
