Argyle (Texas) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as they scored a touchdown with 7:00 to go, bringing the team to victory over
Fairfield (Texas) 37-33.
After nabbing the lead on a touchdown pass by
Jacob Gallegos to
Alex Ward, the Eagles went into halftime with a 25-16 lead. The Eagles took the lead for good with a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 14 points in the third, Argyle still trailed by five points going into the fourth quarter. But six points in the fourth helped AHS pull out the victory.
Fairfield came in allowing just 9.2 points per game this season. FHS had a hard time against Argyle's offense, who entered the game scoring 49.8 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Fairfield, who notched a 56-13 victory over Sinton in its previous outing.
