The Richland Northeast Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Myrtle Beach Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Richland Northeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
While Richland Northeast couldn't quite beat Westwood on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 52-point defeat they were dealt on Tuesday. Richland Northeast fell just short of Westwood by a score of 52-49. While losing is never fun, Richland Northeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Westwood is ranked third).
The losing side was boosted by William Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was David Wine, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Myrtle Beach sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-48 victory over North Myrtle Beach on Tuesday.
This is the second loss in a row for Richland Northeast and nudges their season record down to 13-12. As for Myrtle Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 10-13.
