Republic County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley Heights Mustangs. Republic County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Valley Heights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Hattie Brzon was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Brzon was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Grae Siemsen was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Republic County's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Valley Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
