Xavier moved up to 131 from 190 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Catholic AA-A. The Knights were able to make the jump by beating Cardinal Hayes 41-14.
St. John the Baptist took down Cardinal Spellman 36-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gregory Egan threw for 86 yards and one touchdown and ran for 26 yards in the win.
Ludvig Francis was the best wideout in the league this week as the Cougars bested the The Pilots. Francis racked up four receptions for 86 yards.
Dante Aiken was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 130 yards as Bishop Ford beat Cardinal Spellman. Teammate Rodney Gonzales added to the ground attack by rushing for 59 yards.
St. Peter's's BILLY TRIGLIANOS and Willy Dale have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Catholic AA-A in both passing and receiving yards. TRIGLIANOS has thrown for 501 yards this season, while Dale, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has seven catches for 229 yards. The Falcons' Aiken leads the league in rushing yards with 509.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Xavier takes on St. Francis Prep. Chris Stevens's team is currently in second, while the Terriers are in fourth.
Bishop Ford and the Eagles played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Bishop Ford eventually emerging with a 16-14 victory. Aiken caught one passes for five yards in the win.
