Mountain Empire moved up to 774 from 837 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Manzanita. The Red Hawks were able to move up by losing to Crawford 29-14.
The Colts extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mountain Empire, 29-14. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Holtville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Clayton Bowler threw for 52 and 1 touchdown and Phillip Gutierrez had 43 yards receiving. On the ground Bowler contributed 173 yards. David Rodriguez helped Holtville's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 35 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Escondido Charter takes on Michael Wright's team. The White Tigers are currently in fifth, while the Colts are in first.
Vincent Memorial fell to Holtville 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
