The Xavier Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Mosinee Indians at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Xavier entered their tilt with Wittenberg-Birnamwood with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Xavier blew past Wittenberg-Birnamwood 73-37 at home on Saturday. Given Xavier's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Wittenberg-Birnamwood is ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Mosinee scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 109-26 win over Tomahawk. With Mosinee ahead 77-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Mosinee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Treve Stoffel out in front who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stoffel has scored all season. Landen Thomer was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Xavier's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.8 points per game. As for Mosinee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
