The Rockport-Fulton Pirates can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 42-32 victory over Orange Grove. The win was just what Rockport-Fulton needed coming off of a 47-26 defeat in their prior game.
Rockport-Fulton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaila Flaherty, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Flaherty continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Camryn Brown, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Rockport-Fulton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-20. As for Orange Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rockport-Fulton will take on Sinton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sinton and Rockport-Fulton are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Orange Grove, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Oso at 6:15 p.m. West Oso is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
