Baseball Recap: Litchfield's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

With a playoff win on the line, Litchfield rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sullivan Redskins a 3-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Purple Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Max Leitschuh's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Litchfield's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Titan Hires, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Litchfield's victory bumped their record up to 21-14. As for Sullivan, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-15.

Litchfield has already played their next match, an 11-2 defeat against Auburn on the 24th. Sullivan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
