After a string of three wins, the Wayne Badgers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They suffered a tough 60-40 defeat at the hands of Tabiona. Wayne lost against Tabiona in their previous head to head last Saturday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-40 score last time.
Several Badgers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ Vandyke, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Vandyke's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Macey Jackson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Wayne struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Tabiona, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
Wayne will head out on the road to face off against Bryce Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tabiona will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rich at 5:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
