The Sapulpa Chieftains posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Edison 70-9 on the road. Given Sapulpa's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Edison is ranked 319th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sapulpa found their leader in underclassman Kianna Littlebear, who scored 15 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Littlebear has scored all season. Kailynne Disaya parker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Sapulpa and bumps their season record up to 11-4. As for Edison, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
Sapulpa will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Holland Hall at 6:30 p.m. Holland Hall will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Edison, they will head out on the road to face off against Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
