The Milby Buffs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Sterling 60-16. Milby found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Joemoriah Ben was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and five steals for Sterling. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Ben has scored at least a third of Sterling's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amanda Scott, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Milby has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Sterling, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Milby will take on the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sterling, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Waltrip will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1599th, while the Raiders are ranked 798th).
