After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Paltz, Beacon was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Liberty Indians as they made off with a 12-6 victory. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Abby Haydt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Haydt was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sally Betterbid, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Lassiter, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
