Sahuaro came tearing into Tuesday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Rincon/University Rangers by a score of 45-34. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2019.

Harmony Twito was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted ten points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anissa Garcia, who had eight points.

Twito wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Sahuaro was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rincon/University only racked up three assists.

Rincon/University's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leila O'Dowd, who put up 11 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave O'Dowd a new career-high in steals. Laura Quiroz was another key player, putting up seven points.

Sahuaro is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Rincon/University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Sahuaro will head out to challenge Walden Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sahuaro's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so Walden Grove's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rincon/University, they are taking a road trip to square off against Maryvale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rincon/University is facing Maryvale at the right time seeing as Maryvale is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
