The West Carter Comets lost against the Russell Red Devils back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. West Carter was beaten by Russell 76-42. West Carter has not had much luck with Russell recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Russell found their leader in underclassman Elijah Neel, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Rimmer, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
West Carter now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Russell, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
West Carter will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rose Hill Christian. As for Russell, they will take on Rowan County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
