Victory Christian Academy has struggled against Calumet Christian recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Victory Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hannah Coleman, who scored two points along with 21 rebounds, and Ellen Penner who scored four points along with three steals. Those 21 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Amariah Jankowski, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Victory Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Calumet Christian racked up 15 assists.
Calumet Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makenna Landkrohn out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Landkrohn has scored at least 25% of Calumet Christian's points. Laila Ogden was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Victory Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Calumet Christian, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Victory Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Marquette Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marquette Catholic will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Calumet Christian will take on Illiana Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Illiana Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday.
