When it comes to explaining why Mandarin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ny'keria Thomas. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mandarin struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Leading Bishop Kenny to victory were Clare Coyle and Riley Talbert. Coyle scored 13 points along with two steals, while Talbert scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Baker, who scored five points.
This is the second loss in a row for Mandarin and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Bishop Kenny, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their 22nd straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mandarin will take on First Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. First Coast is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Bishop Kenny, they will be playing at home against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverside is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
