Basketball Game Preview: North Valley Baptist Bulldogs vs. El Primero Lobos

North Valley Baptist is 9-1 against El Primero since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The North Valley Baptist Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the El Primero Lobos at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Valley Baptist will head into Monday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 37) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past KIPP San Jose Collegiate 38-36. The 38-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

North Valley Baptist relied on the efforts of Dom Lara, who posted six points and 16 boards, and Josh Medikondu, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 10 points. Lara is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 11 every time he's taken the court this season. Andre Lopez was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, El Primero can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 45-34 victory over Cindy Avitia. The Lobos' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

North Valley Baptist's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for El Primero, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Everything came up roses for North Valley Baptist against El Primero when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 70-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Valley Baptist since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
