Basketball Game Preview: Lexington Yellowjackets vs. North Rowan Cavaliers

Lexington and North Rowan are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Lexington Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the North Rowan Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lexington comes in on five and North Rowan on three.

Last Saturday, Lexington was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastern Randolph, taking the game 83-73.

Jaylen Henderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 27 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Andre Gyabaah was another key player, posting 17 points.

Meanwhile, North Rowan got the win against East Davidson on Friday by a conclusive 88-62. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 26 points or more this season.

Lexington pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.3 points per game. As for North Rowan, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Lexington didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against North Rowan when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 75-71 victory. Will Lexington repeat their success, or does North Rowan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
