St. Louis University has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Webster Groves Statesmen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Saturday, St. Louis University came up short against Rockhurst and fell 62-52. While losing is never fun, St. Louis University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Rockhurst is ranked 90th).
Meanwhile, Webster Groves unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Blue Valley Northwest by a score of 60-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Webster Groves has suffered yet this season.
St. Louis University's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Webster Groves, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
St. Louis University was able to grind out a solid victory over Webster Groves when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 55-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Louis University since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
