The Rye Garnets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 66-43 defeat at the hands of Ardsley. Rye was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-11.
Ardsley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Iva Corluka led the charge by scoring seven points along with 15 rebounds and five assists. Corluka is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Dylan Paley, who scored 15 points.
Rye has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Ardsley, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Rye will take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walter Panas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Garnets in New York (the Panthers are ranked 41st, while the Garnets are ranked 347th). As for Ardsley, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
