After a string of eight wins, the Philip Barbour Colts's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of PikeView by a score of 52-49. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Philip Barbour has scored all season.
Several Colts players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rylee Bodkins, who scored seven points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Bodkins is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Arrington Sparks, who scored eight points along with nine steals.
Philip Barbour's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for PikeView, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Philip Barbour will take on North Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Marion is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. PikeView won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Robert C. Byrd at 2:45 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Robert C. Byrd focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
