Basketball Recap: Casen Hutfles' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Onaga over Cornerstone Family

Onaga lost against Cornerstone Family back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Onaga Buffaloes lost to the Cornerstone Family Saints at home by a 70-56 margin.

Onaga lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Casen Hutfles, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Hutfles is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Francesco Giolo, who went 7 of 13 en route to 14 points and five assists.

Onaga's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Cornerstone Family, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Onaga wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-48 defeat against Jackson Heights on the 17th. As for Cornerstone Family, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-24 victory against Blue Ridge Christian on the 16th.
