Declo extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-4. They fell 11-8 to the Lighthouse Christian Lions. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.
Cade Miller and Zane Snedaker did some serious damage despite the final result: Miller went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double, while Snedaker went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that Miller has brought in this season. Race Zollinger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Lighthouse Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.5 runs this season.
On Lighthouse Christian's side, Brennan Ford was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up six earned runs off six hits. Ford was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Lighthouse Christian got a massive performance out of Garrett Cowger, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brody Cowger, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Declo will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on American Falls at 4:00 p.m. on the 31st. Lighthouse Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Hornets' contest: after the Hornets face off against the Beavers, they'll take on Lighthouse Christian again at 11:00 a.m. on April 4.
