Munford is a perfect 3-0 against Memphis University School since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Owls at 7:00 p.m. Munford will be strutting in after a victory while Memphis University School will be coming in after a loss.

Munford's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Memphis Home Education Association.

Houston Yount made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Yount was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Curly Lowry, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Brodie Fortner was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Munford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Memphis University School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christian Brothers.

Munford's record is now 10-6. As for Memphis University School, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Munford came out on top in a nail-biter against Memphis University School in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
