Even though the Southmont Mounties have not done well against the Seeger Patriots recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went Southmont's way against Seeger as Southmont made off with a 56-31 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Southmont has posted yet this season.
Delorean Mason was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Emily Link was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six steals and five assists.
Seeger's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Addie Shrader, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Cadence White who scored ten points.
The win (which was Southmont's third in a row) raised their record to 10-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Seeger, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southmont will take on Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Frankfort is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home.
