Basketball Recap: Swansboro Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Swansboro put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past the Southwest Onslow Stallions with points to spare, taking the game 74-57. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Stallions, too.

Swansboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tayvion Tangiora, who went 11 for 18 on his way to 25 points and seven rebounds. The match was Tangiora's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Jermaine Cunningham was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards.

Southwest Onslow lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rue Chapman, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malekhi Hutchinson, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds.

Swansboro pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.6 points per game. As for Southwest Onslow, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.

Swansboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-51 win against J.H. Rose on the 5th. As for Southwest Onslow, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-39 victory against South Central on the 6th.
