If Benton Central wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Rensselaer Central, they should've done a better job of containing Carter Ogborn. The Bombers really took it to the Bison for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-0 win for which the team can thank Ogborn, who rushed for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

One reason for the win was Rensselaer Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Jackson Jones was the leader with two. Logan Metzger was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

The victory made it two in a row for Rensselaer Central and bumps their season record up to 5-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Benton Central and 1-5 Lafayette Central Catholic. As for Benton Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rensselaer Central will venture away from home to face off against River Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Benton Central, they will head out to take on Lafayette Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bison are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
