The Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Olney by a score of 54-45 on Tuesday. The win was just what Maritime Academy Charter needed coming off of a 86-36 loss in their prior match.
Leading Maritime Academy Charter to victory were Zibri Miller and Jadin Aviles. Miller dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Aviles scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jermaine Boone-Williams, who scored five points.
Maritime Academy Charter's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Olney, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-7 record last season and are now at 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maritime Academy Charter won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mastery Charter North - Pickett at 4:30 p.m. on December 20th. Olney will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Academy at Palumbo at 4:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
