After both having extra time off, the Amador Buffaloes and the Liberty Ranch Hawks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Amador made easy work of Bradshaw Christian and carried off a 9-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Pride: they've now won three in a row.
Meanwhile, Liberty Ranch got themselves on the board against Union Mine last Thursday, but Union Mine never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Diamondbacks. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won three matchups in a row.
Not much got past Laura Quinn, who gave up just five hits to keep Union Mine off the board. Quinn has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mariella Granata was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Perez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Liberty Ranch hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.
Liberty Ranch's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Amador, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6-1.
Amador came up short against Liberty Ranch in their previous meeting back in March, falling 7-2. Will the Buffaloes have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
