The Hardin Hornets lost against the Splendora Wildcats back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hardin was dealt a 65-34 defeat at the hands of Splendora. Hardin has struggled against Splendora recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Ricko Denman and Jahmall Thomas jr certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Denman scored 21 points, while Thomas jr dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Jaydn McNeely, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Kelley, who scored 13 points.
Hardin bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Splendora, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Hardin will face off against Founders Christian at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Founders Christian is ranked 1059th, while Hardin is ranked 1073rd). As for Splendora, they will face off against Onalaska at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Onalaska focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Tuesday.
