You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. A special shoutout goes to Trinity Catholic's senior Isaiah Williams, who scored seven total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Welcome
Say hello to Fort Zumwalt North: the team broke into the power rankings at the 23rd position after its notable last-week performance. It put the hurt on Washington with a conclusive 44 - 6 victory. That 38-point margin marks the most Fort Zumwalt North has won by all season.
Can't Touch This
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Trinity Catholic last week (their 4th in a row). The final score between it and Lutheran was a 75 - 15 blowout in Trinity Catholic's favor. Trinity Catholic did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. Isaiah Williams deserves a lot of credit in the win. He rushed for 134 yards and threw for five touchdowns, a performance good enough to make him one of the top players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The showdown between Lee's Summit West (3rd in the power rankings) and Lee's Summit North (4th) shaped up to be more of a takedown. Lee's Summit West has to be hurting after a devastating 35 - 14 defeat at the hands of Lee's Summit North. Part of the problem was that the offensive line had trouble protecting the QB, who was sacked five times.
Game of Inches
Despite turning the ball over three last game, Platte County still found its way to the outcome it desired. The game was as close as could be, but it ended up on top with a 28 - 27 over Smithville. Platte County and Smithville were a much more even match than Platte County's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game. The razor-thin margin made this game the most thrilling one of the week.
