EVERSON, Wash. - After three lead changes,
Nooksack Valley (Everson, Wash.) took the lead for good when
Dalton Biehle ran for a touchdown with 8:00 left in the third quarter and held on to upset
Friday Harbor (Wash.) 41-28 on Saturday.
The Pioneers led 35-8 at halftime, but the Wolverines recaptured the lead on a rushing touchdown with 10:00 remaining in the third.
Nooksack Valley grew its lead to 33 points entering the fourth quarter. NV scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Biehle.
Friday Harbor has now lost four games in a row, including a 50-7 loss versus Mt. Baker last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Everson school, which was coming off a 43-18 defeat at the hands of Lynden Christian in its previous game. The loss was the fourth in a row for FH.
Nooksack Valley (2-6) will play a 1A Northwest game against Blaine next week, while Friday Harbor (3-5) will take on Lynden Christian also in a 1A Northwest game.
