The Maplesville Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thorsby. Maplesville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Thorsby apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the defeat, Maplesville had strong showings from Jonathan Wilson, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds, and Aiden Abbott, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Jakobe Nix was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Maplesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Thorsby, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Maplesville will head out on the road to face off against Isabella at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thorsby won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jemison at 6:30 p.m. on December 5th.
