The Front Royal Christian Warriors had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. 2024 welcomed they with a 55-35 loss courtesy of Randolph-Macon Academy. Front Royal Christian lost against Randolph-Macon Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 82-14 score last time.
Randolph-Macon Academy found their leader in underclassman Nolan Kirabo, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Johnathan Doku was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Front Royal Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Front Royal Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Randolph-Macon Academy at 4:00 p.m. on February 1st. Randolph-Macon Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fishburne Military at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th.
