Baseball Recap: Eastside Catholic Wins Going Away Against Bishop Blanchet

While Eastside Catholic put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Bishop Blanchet. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Jack Champion's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Bode, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Eastside Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Schock, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

The win got Eastside Catholic back to even at 12-12. As for Bishop Blanchet, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

As of now, neither Eastside Catholic nor the Braves have any future games scheduled.
