The Haldane Blue Devils entered their tilt with Burke Catholic with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Haldane took down Burke Catholic 37-19 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Haldane also won the last time the pair played on Friday.
Haldane had a senior duo take command as Evan Giachinta rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns and Ryan Van Tassel rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Van Tassel was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. Haldane also got help from Brody Corless who showed off his sure hands for 98 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Burke Catholic still got an impressive performance from Liam Benzinger, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
Haldane's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Burke Catholic, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Haldane will square off against Burke Catholic at 4:00 p.m. As for Burke Catholic, they will square off against Haldane at 4:00 p.m.
