Basketball Recap: Harvest Community Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Harvest Community and Impact Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Harvest Community had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Impact Christian Academy Lions, falling 77-21. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adam Lawson, who posted five points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Lawson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Gage Baltozer also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Even though they lost, Harvest Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive contests.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Impact Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ronald Clark, who went 7 for 13 en route to 14 points along with six boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Jackson, who put up 12 points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Harvest Community has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season. As for Impact Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Harvest Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Impact Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-62 win against North Florida Educational Institute on the 7th.
