The Elkhorn Antlers on the road again on Saturday and play against the Crete Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Elkhorn faced Ashland-Greenwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Elkhorn took down Ashland-Greenwood 59-45.
Luke Howard was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Lamski, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Crete put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Seward, posting a 78-38 win on the road. Crete has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.
Elkhorn pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Crete, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
Elkhorn came up short against Crete in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 66-61. Can Elkhorn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
