It was another big night for Kaelyn Gowdy, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists for Minor. Gowdy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Adams, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Jackson-Olin bumped their record down to 9-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.0 points per game. As for Minor, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson-Olin on the road again on Monday and play against Brookwood at 10:00 a.m. on January 15th. As for Minor, they will challenge Northridge at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Northridge is ranked 75th, while Minor is ranked 51st).
