Sesser-Valier has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Christopher Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sesser-Valier will be strutting in after a victory while Christopher will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Sesser-Valier earned a 57-50 win over Johnston City. The victory was just what Sesser-Valier needed coming off of a 63-35 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Christopher lost to Waltonville on the road by a decisive 60-43 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Christopher can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Waltonville is ranked 51st).
Sesser-Valier's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Christopher, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-3.
Sesser-Valier couldn't quite finish off Christopher when the teams last played back in February and fell 49-47. Can Sesser-Valier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
