The St. Helens Lions will be playing at home against the Mountain View Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Helens can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with a 50-41 victory over Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts. St. Helens' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Mountain View entered their tilt with Kelso with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Mountain View came out on top against Kelso by a score of 50-42 on Monday.
Layla Senderson and Nina Peterson were among the main playmakers for Mountain View as the former dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds and the latter scored 24 points along with four steals. The matchup was Peterson's third in a row with at least ten points. Mylee Thompson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
St. Helens' victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Mountain View, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
St. Helens couldn't quite finish off Mountain View when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 41-39. Thankfully for St. Helens, Katelyn Henderson (who scored 16 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
