For the first time this season, Princeton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will face off against the Eastern Wayne Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Princeton has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Things were looking good for Princeton after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 21-13 to Hobbton. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 4-0 in the first period.
Caroline Waller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Mitchell, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Eastern Wayne was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of American Leadership Academy-Johnston by a score of 2-1. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.
Hannah Lee was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.
Having lost for the first time this season, Eastern Wayne fell to 2-1. As for Princeton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Princeton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Eastern Wayne struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Princeton came up short against Eastern Wayne in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 5-1. Can Princeton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
