The Master's Academy hasn't had much luck against Trinity Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Saints at 6:00 p.m. The Master's Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.4 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, The Master's Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over DeLand. Those five runs were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Brooklyn Catalano was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Martin, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Lyman hit Trinity Prep with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Saints fell 11-8 to the Greyhounds. While the Saints didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Greyhounds 4-0 in the first period.
Trinity Prep got a big performance out of Olivia Agnew, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Kozma, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for The Master's Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Trinity Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: The Master's Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. It's a different story for Trinity Prep, though, as they've been averaging 14 hits. Given The Master's Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Saints will need to find a way to close that gap.
