Basketball Recap: Chancellor Skates Past King George with Ease

Chancellor won the last time they faced King George and things went their way on Friday too. The Chancellor Chargers took their contest with ease, bagging a 56-28 victory over the King George Foxes. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season.

Leading Chancellor to victory were Natalie Lanning and Lydia Brockelbank. Lanning almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine assists, while Brockelbank almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. That's the most points Brockelbank has posted since back in January of 2024. Hannah Reich was another key player, putting up five points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Chancellor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Chancellor is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for King George, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Chancellor won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dinwiddie at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chancellor knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Dinwiddie likes a good challenge. As for King George, they will square off against James Monroe at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
