Brentwood is 8-2 against Summit since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Brentwood Bruins will head out on the road to square off against the Summit Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Brentwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
Brentwood can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent game. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ravenwood 56-28 at home. Given Brentwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Ravenwood is ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ella Ryan was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Brentwood's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Morris, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Summit suffered a tough 59-37 loss at the hands of Independence on Friday. Summit has struggled against Independence recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The win made it two in a row for Brentwood and bumps their season record up to 21-4. As for Summit, they dropped their record down to 9-15 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Brentwood against Summit in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 72-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brentwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
